The dreams of the West
Are a ghost ship
We’re taught to hold on to
With false idle fictions
And all that stands
Between me and you
Men of peace just said
The state of the world is war
No we won’t be led
No business we’re dying for
The state of world is
Nightmares of the West
You’re a soldier
And you just wanna live to see home
But there’s war in our country too
And blind billionaires
Between me and you
Let the ship burn
We’re the ocean
In every shade, in every color
Let the ship burn
We’re the ocean
The tide is rising over
Our lives like crests
On the waves
We are
The right now
In action
This present
We break upon the bow
Men of peace just said
The state of the world is war
The state of the world is war
No we won’t be led
No business we’re dying for
No business we’re dying for

Coming back to punk rock after spending a lot of time away listening to other things made this extremely hard hitting and fresh. McCaughan's poetic lyricsm in Sundowner shines through in this release. Somehow Metropole didn't hit me like most, but I can see how "You Are Here" was a precursor to one of my favorite records to come. Shaughn Martel

The verse "Can't even buy a coffee without exploiting someone" got me. It really hits hard. For the entire length of the album it felt like the end of the world.
But to be perfectly honest, it's just how life is these days. And it's fucked up. szczur
